Accel Spark Plug Wires

A spark plug wire's task is no joke. Imagine carrying 50,000 volts multiple times a second under a 200-degree temperature. It is responsible for harnessing tens of thousands of volts and delivering this juice to the spark plugs every time, without fail. A poor-quality spark plug wire can waste your engine's energy by driving the electricity somewhere else.

With gas prices sky high most individuals who drive are interested in ways they can make their car more fuel efficient and save as much money as possible. While there are no fuel saving tips that will keep your car full of gas without filling up, there are some tips that really can help you save money on fuel over the long run. All of these tips focus on making your car more fuel efficient.

Fuel Efficiency Tip #1

Drive When You Crank Up This might seem obvious, but as soon as you crank up your car you should drive off. However, many people crank up and leave the car idling for a while. Instead of this, when you crank up drive off and only keep your car running when it is absolutely necessary.

Fuel Efficiency Tip #2

Don't Ride the Break Many drivers hit the break more often than is necessary. Additionally there are quite a few drivers that slow down for a braking car when they could easily switch lanes. Not riding the break can increase your fuel efficiency by up to 30%, so this is a great tip you should follow.

Fuel Efficiency Tip #3

Turn Off Your Car If you are going to be stopping for more than 10 minutes you should switch off your car to keep fuel efficiency at its peak and not burn more gas than is necessary.

Fuel Efficiency Tip #4

Don't Turn Off Your Car If you are only stopping for a brief moment or less than 5 minutes then don't turn off your car because the amount of gas used to crank up is more than you would burn in that short period of time.

Fuel Efficiency Tip #5

Inflate Tires Properly Too many drivers never think of their tires, unless one goes flat. However, having tires that are properly inflated can save fuel and make your car more fuel efficient, saving you money. Because of this, you should check your tire pressure on a regular basis.

While gas prices don't seem like they will be dipping considerably in the next few months every tip to help you make your car more fuel efficient is helpful. So, follow the above fuel tips and you will see that over time your car really is more fuel efficient.

Engine Mount of your car

Saturday, August 1, 2009

We all know that a car moves at great speeds on the road. But have you given any thought how this machine it manages to keep all of its parts intact? while moving? The makers of the automobile thought of that and designed various parts to keep this moving machine together. For the engine, one of the parts they invented at does this is the engine mount.

This auto contraption part, sometimes called the engine motor mount, is responsible for connecting attaching the engine and transmission to your car's chassis. At the same time, this mount secures the engine and absorbs the vibration it generates coming from engine and vehicle operation. And while it does that function, this mount also reduces the noise levels produced by the engine. This will part helps you have a smoother and trouble-free driving experience on the road.

These days, an engine mount is made from a combination of rubber and steel. These two materials have proven to be durable enough to handle this task. But everything doesn't nothing lasts forever, ; including this mount and its parts here will come a time when your car's engine mount would call it quits. Tough as they are, The only way to make it last longer is to find engine mount parts for your car and use them to maintain a good performance.they also give in to wear and old age. So if you have your car for a couple of years now, have the mounts inspected for signs of failure regularly. And should you need a new engine mount, several stores have them available so it shouldn't be hard to find a replacement. You can also check out online car parts stores for a fast, convenient and secured shopping.

Audi 9000

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

The Audi 9000 is considered by many as a landmark vehicle in car engineering. Its introduction in 1995 as a concept car made people take a second look at Audi models. With the car's distinctive, bowfront aluminum body and undefined bumpers, the Audi 9000 started a shift toward the automotive design method called angular styling. It is believed that the sleek bodywork of the Audi 9000 captured the attention of the auto industry, and this interest has been sustained by the Audi 9000 parts specs fitted on the vehicle.

One of the greater lights of the Audi 9000 parts is its transversely mounted engine. This particular Audi 9000 part was first available with a 1.8 L turbocharged, inline, four-cylinder, 20-valve engine. For the first two years of production, both front-wheel drive and quattro models of the Audi 9000 parts featured a 132 kW version of the engine. In 2001, a more powerful quattro Audi 9000 parts model was released. Equipped with a 165 kW engine, the first-generation of the Audi 9000 has parts that share the same basic design of the original but features a larger turbocharger, an additional intercooler on the driver's side, forged connecting rods, a dual exhaust, and a few other internals designed to accommodate the increase in turbo boost from roughly 10 psi peak to 15. Over the years, Audi has developed parts for the 9000 with considerable improvements, including a lightened and power-boosted Audi 9000 parts for its “quattro-Sport" model. Capable of producing up to 176 kW and a top speed of 250 kph, the quattro-Sport is supported by Audi 9000 parts designed to exhibit understeer during drive conditions. Understeer is a characteristic determined by Audi 9000 suspension parts design, such as the effect of the all-wheel drive system.

Understeer is inherently a safer handling characteristic, as it is easier for novice and casual drivers to predict and control the vehicle. In addition, a number of modifications on Audi 9000 parts included the inclusion of Audi 9000 parts like the rear-wing spoilers and improved understeer suspension settings while the original four cylinder engine range was complemented with a 184 kW, 3.2-L VR6 in early 2003, which comes with the quattro all-wheel drive system. In October of 2004 a new dual-clutch gearbox and stiffer suspension were included in the Audi 9000 parts system.

GMC Fenders as Multi-Purpose Auto Parts

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Complete the look of your car with GMC fender. Grab these auto parts now!

Some auto parts are installed to perform more than one function. This is true for a vehicle’s body. The body does more than project an image of luxury and style. It also acts as protection and foundation for various auto parts. GMC is aware of this and in turn, produces vehicles with a complete and efficient body having superior exterior features. One component of the body that contributes to its multiple functions is the fender. In GMC vehicles, the GMC fender is a part that not only completes the body’s overall design but also ensures the capability of motorists to improve both the appearance and performance of their cars.

From the outside fenders make a great impact on the look and style of the vehicle. Together with the body, fenders help define the appearance of the car. This is one reason why rear fenders are integrated onto the car’s main body in newer vehicles. Fenders are located at the side portions of a vehicle. They are part of a metal assembly on either side of the vehicle over and around the front and rear wheels. The fender on the front contours from the front doors and runs forward to the bumper and upward to the hood. Meanwhile, a rear fender runs from the rear bumper up to the trunk lid.

Fenders are also intended to house the wheels and tires of a vehicle. They protect other components of the body from rust and sludge formation. Fenders do this by catching the mud and road debris spewed out by a wheel. The fender also contributes in the performance of the vehicle by having extra space in the wheel housing in case motorists may want to get bigger tires and wheels. The GMC fender, for example, gives a spacious housing for GMC parts upgrade, whether for customization or increased performance.

Ford Truck Wheels

Auto Parts that Handle tons of heavy load

Several factors led to Ford being known as a world-leader in the car industry since its founding by Henry Ford. Ford made large contributions in the automotive and manufacturing industry by being the first company to adopt the moving assembly line of auto parts in the mass production of automobiles. This led to more affordable vehicles and increased productivity in car output. Additionally Ford is known for their quality trucks, notably the F-Series where the F-150 is its highest-selling model. Ford trucks’ reputation for high quality is due to their durability and capacity to handle great loads. This is made possible through years of experience in truck manufacturing, and through quality Ford parts. Contributing to this are the wheels used in Ford trucks.

Working together with tires, wheels carry the brunt of the payload, acceleration, cornering and braking capacities of a vehicle. Taken together with a truck’s suspension, the right combination of wheels will give significant effects to a car’s performance. This is true especially for high performance vehicles, like Ford trucks.

Wheels can either be made of steel, aluminum or other alloys to effectively support the weight of the vehicle. Steel wheels have hubcaps at the outer edge for aesthetic purposes. Aside from affecting vehicle performance, wheels can also enhance the external features of a vehicle. Some car enthusiasts replace their original wheels to achieve a better look. Alloy wheels are preferred in these instances as they add aesthetic value while not losing in durability. With the wide selection the market offers today, motorists can easily choose the right wheels for them whether it may be chrome or spinners.

With this one can see why Ford trucks can be counted as part of Ford’s success. Combining style and performance, one way Ford trucks does is this through Ford truck wheels.

Cool off with efficient GMC radiators available here with free shipping

Engines work in an arduous environment that creates friction and heat, in order to avoid the engines from overheating, radiators would be needed. GMC knows the importance of these auto parts in their vehicles. That is why they equip their vehicles with high quality GMC radiators for better engine performance. Since GMC is aimed at producing high performing and reliable vehicles, durable GMC parts are required for smoother operation.

GMC radiators are just some of the essential equipments in vehicles. The radiator is basically responsible for cooling the engine and nearby components by distributing cooling agents like a coolant. This coolant is a liquid, usually a mixture of water with ethylene glycol or antifreeze and a little corrosion inhibitor. This fluid then moves in a closed system from the radiator to the engine, where it conducts heat away from the engine parts and carries the heat primarily to the radiator. GMC radiators are strategically placed behind a vehicle's grille in order to benefit from the cool air coming in. The radiator not only cools the engine but also takes the heat away from the engine.

Radiators are tasked to at least take one-third of the heat produced in the combustion process, in order to avoid overheating. Motorists should know that for each vehicle type and capacity, there is a corresponding radiator. It is important that the radiator suits the needs of the engine for an efficient vehicle performance. For more effective cooling process, some engines have an additional oil cooler. This is a separate small radiator to cool the motor oil. Today, some cars that come with automatic transmissions have extra connections to the radiator, which is responsible to let the transmission fluid transfer its heat to the coolant in the radiator. Meanwhile, Turbo charged or supercharged engines may be equipped with an intercooler. As one of the highly used component in a vehicle, regular maintenance of the radiator is recommended. It is advised that vehicles more than five years old have their radiators check at least once every two years.

GMC truck bumpers protect the passengers

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Vehicles are prone to many hazards on the road which may damage internal or external auto parts. To keep auto parts from those hazards, various safety features are installed in a vehicle. GMC is one car manufacturer that makes sure its vehicles are protected by installing high quality GMC parts on its cars. This is why GMC is known for their SUVs and pickup trucks that boast performance. One way GMC trucks keep their auto parts safe is through GMC truck bumpers.

GMC truck bumpers are helpful for they act as protection for the hood and engine in minor, low-speed collisions. Bumpers act as buffers, absorbing most of the damage of collisions before it reaches the hood. They can be installed in either the front or rear of a vehicle. Since their location makes them the first component to be in contact during a collision, they are able to prevent extensive damage to the vehicle. They are specifically made to suit a certain type of vehicle to improve its performance and safety. GMC truck bumpers, for example, are higher compared to passenger cars. Higher bumpers provide better clearance for driving in steep paths. Higher bumpers also prove to be helpful when motorists drive over large rocks and other objects during off-road operations.

Bumpers not only affect the performance of a vehicle, they also contribute to the external appeal of the vehicle. Some car enthusiasts opt for customized bumpers for a more stylish look. In the past, styling and customization was not really included in a bumper’s function. Early bumpers were just strap or flat iron incorporated in a vehicle. Later on chromed bumpers became the fad, especially in the 1960s. By the early 1970s, self repairing bumpers were introduced and after a while they became mandatory. This led to modern bumpers addressing the need for auto part safety and car customization.

Cold Air Intakes, Making F-250 Cooler to Drive

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

The series of Ford pickup trucks have already established themselves as tough-on-the-road vehicles and the F-250 is one of them. Improvements and upgrades on its parts are continuously being done to ensure it keeps up with the changing times. But one could still attest that installing an F-250 cold air intake is one of the best ways to improve performance.

F-250

The F-250 cold air intake could be considered a performance system as it is composed of tubes and sometimes come with an air filter as well. However, these tubes have large diameters for the purpose of taking in more oxygen. The result of more oxygen is an increase in horsepower brought by the injection of colder or denser air. The trick it does is not to take in the hot under-the-hood air, instead draw in only the cold outside air. It is already a common knowledge that combustion generates heat so the introduction of cold air into the hot chamber is really beneficial. The cold air helps in reducing the pressure of heat, all the while creating more efficient burn. Better fuel economy, more horsepower, longer-lasting engine – these are some of the good things that come with the installation of an F-250 cold air intake.

Cold air intakes are among the sure ways to a more powerful driving performance. And here’s the best part – these are easily available in most auto parts stores and at a price just under a hundred dollars. All cold air intakes are the same, the difference only lies in the quality of materials used. But deep down, cold air intakes still have the same goals – bring in more cold air and provide for a more efficient combustion.

True, the 300+ horsepower of F-250s may be enough, but wouldn’t it be more cool and fun to have more than that? This performance part even has tempting offers as it is within a reasonable budget and its installation is quite easy. So, for a cooler driving experience, installing an F-250 cold air intake is the way to go.

DIY: Cold Air Intake

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Vehicle performance is everything for some car owners and they’d give anything to achieve that. But of course, being practical when it comes to vehicles is also one way to achieve the desired performance. It doesn’t always have to be expensive as one can always get himself a cold air intake or better yet, make one with a DIY (Do-It-Yorself) cold air intake. This device is one of the inexpensive ways of boosting up performance.

Cold Air Intake

But before looking into details on how to make one, one has to be knowledgeable about the nature of the device. As mentioned, it boosts vehicle performance. It does so by taking in a colder or denser air from outside the engine bay (not from under the hood which is what the stock air intakes do). It also absorbs great quantities of cold air as its main goal is to supply more oxygen for a more efficient combustion.

Now that the functions of cold air intakes are established, below are the steps on how to make a DIY cold air intake. These would be helpful for those who want to try to unleash the mechanic in them.

First, one has to go to the store and buy the needed tools which are cone filter with an inlet diameter of about 3mm, a rubber hose that’s about 55mm, a flexible heavy truck 3mm exhaust tubing, 4-3.5mm clamps, and a high temperature paint (which is optional). The tools that one would just need are hack saw, sockets and some wrenches.

1. First thing to do is to remove the stock factory air intake installed.
2. Cut the stock air intake hose, get a heat gun and heat the rubber hose. While doing so, work the tubing into it. Get the clamp and put it over the rubber hose’s edge.
3. After that, take it and bend it the way it is needed to be bent. Be sure to leave as much space as possible between the exhaust manifold and the tubing (at least 1-2-inches). Then, remove the bracket that holds the factory intake in place. Remove the bolts that hold it and keep them somewhere safe. This will provide room to work on. Make sure that the gap between the road and the tubing is about 14-inches. Also note the length of the filter – if it is longer, make the pipe smaller. Measure the ground and the tubing using a ruler then cut it across.
4. Then start working on the air filter on to the tubing. Use the heat gun to warm the rubber part of the filter with then continue sliding it on the tubing. After that, place the clamp on the edge of the air filter’s rubber part and secure it down.
5. Support the tubing with the bracket that was holding the air intake before and bend it so that it becomes parallel to the tubing. One could also heat it so that it would be easier to bend it with a plier.
6. To secure the cold air intake in place more, reinstall the bracket and get the 2 clamps over it and the tubing. Then jack the front end of the car up, then put the clamp through the hole in the frame and around the tubing. Another reminder: don’t forget to securely tighten the clamp on the hose of the air intake on the throttle body. Then, check that all clamps are tightened down.
7. Now, it’s all set! Take the car for a drive and feel the difference that the cold air intake provides.
